DIY easy/basic breezy off-shoulder tee and cropped tee

So, i made these easy breezy top which is quite summery. I made it as an off-shoulder top but its not necessary for you to do the same. It is an easy sew for those who just started sewing :D

Items needed:

1. Fabric (you should be able to fold it twice and still have half of your body and one arm covered) i used a cotton blend fabric and to be honest you can use any type of fabric with any print you want :)
2. Scissors.
3. Sewing machine. (You can hand-sew it as well)
4. Matching thread.
5. An old tee. (It doesn't need to be fitted)

Steps:

1. Fold your fabric twice and lay your folded t-shirt over it. (The folds of t-shirt should be over the folds of fabric)

2. Cut it out. If you want it to be fitted then just add 1" to it for sewing (seam) and then cut. Otherwise, you can add inches to it according to how loose you want it to be. I made it quite loose.
And I also cut the neck hole. Again you can make it as big/deep you want but start small as you can always make it bigger.

3. Lay the two pieces together (wrong side together) and sew all around (shoulders, arms and sides).

4. Now this step is optional. If you need to hem your shoulders/bottom/sleeves/neck-hole you can do so. I didn't need to as my fabric was not fraying (yay me :D)
And ta-da that's it :D A super easy and super cute DIY top for your summer. And it looks good too. You can literally use any fabric to make this DIY top. I loved it so much that i made another top. I made the other one a bit shorter and whoa it looked great :D I have to wear tanks tops underneath both of these tops as they are both see-through.

You can make a normal sized neck-hole for a simple tee as well :)

My first try. I tuck it in my jeans/shorts and wear simple sandals.

Its shorter version. I must admit i wear this cropped version more.
I hope you liked it :)

Top recycled :D

You will love this DIY recycling, it is super cute and super easy. :D

What you will need?
1. A t-shirt or top.
2. A sharp scissor.
3. Matching thread.
4. Needle.
5. Safety pin.

So here are the steps:
1. You will have to cut out the sleeves and top of the t-shirt right below where the sleeves end.
And cut 2 strips (1" wide) from the lower portion on the t-shirt.

2.You will now have a rectangular shape.

3. Make a tube (on the top) on both the sides of the t-shirt (front and back) by folding it. And stitch it.

4. Now take the 2 strips from before and pull it, it will curl up. Now pass these 2 strings from both the tubes from front and back sides. You can use a ribbon too.

5. This is the final look :D Pretty cute, right? :D

I just tied those strings from back and front together.

And tadaa there you have it, a super cute and super easy DIY is before you :D
Hope you liked it, would like to hear from you :)

How to make a Fabric Bow? With or without stitching :D

Fabric Bow

Making a fabric bow is super easy :D
You can make them either way, by using needles and by not using them. :P

1. Cut out a rectangle from your fabric, mine is from an old top of mine. Depending on the size of the rectangle your bow size will vary. Any size will do btw.

2. Now fold the rectangle from each side (bigger side) and hot glue it.

Hope you can see it ~.~

3. Now pinch it in the middle and hot glue it again from the opposite side or stitch it. It doesn't really matter.       Both will look the same. :)
Or you can wrap the same color fabric over it or different color (whatever you'd prefer)

Here i first stitched it in the shape i wanted and then hot glued the same fabric over it.
Here are some other bows that i made:

  • The black one is the bow that i made in this tutorial.
  • The one next to it is a jeans material bow. I used a button to cover my stitches here. The button makes it even prettier :D
  • The mid one is what i made from a lace material. I had a black stone and it was perfect for it. This shape is actually for my hairband. Looks really pretty on it.
  • The 2 blue one's, i think i am gonna make ear-rings using them. What do you think? A ring? or an ear-ring? And they are made using t-shirt fabric.
  • I absolutely love this one's color. I think it looks perfect like this :D Its from an old top of mine.
So what do you guys think? It was easy. :D
